Catherine was kind enough to head all the way up to my house for a Christmas Eve run. When she pulled up my driveway was mostly dry with a few rain sprinkles. Then Jack Frost turned on his charm and a winter storm was in full force shortly after we left. We headed up Lone Peak Hwy to the Murdock Canal Trail. Wow...that is a great trail!!!! We made fresh tracks and it was truly majestic! It was so fun to catchup with Catherine....our conversation didn't even skip a beat. Though our pace was slow, my legs were very tired by the end of the run. Running in the snow is hard work. A few inches had fallen while we were out. I really miss running with her! Rachel was going to come, but needed to stay close to home. We missed her! I decided to do my long run today, so I wouldn't feel guilty for taking 2 days off. My ankle was very sore after the run. I think running in the snow worked my legs HARD!!!! And I didn't tighten my ski boots enough, so my shins are bruised from skiing Saturday. Hopefully, they will recover soon. We had a wonderful Christmas Eve! It was my turn to host, so I reserved our church building so my house wouldn't get trashed! We had such a fun time! Lots of games, good food, Wii and a piƱata. Minimal clean up too :) I couldn't ask for a better day! |
